Welcome to MenotaBlitz!

MenotaBlitz is a digital tool for the short-hand transcription of primarily Old Norse source material and for the easy production of Menota-compatible XML editions.

MenotaBlitz is developed and maintained by Robert K. Paulsen (University of Bergen Library) as a private side-project. While the project benefits from UiB\'s contacts and infrastructure, I write all the code in my spare time and develop the project essentially as a hobby. While I welcome collaborations with the Medieval Nordic Text Archive (Menota), MenotaBlitz is not a part of or funded by any academic institution or project, and is the product of unpaid voluntary labor.

If your do not know how to use MenotaBlitz, please consult the manual.

IMPORTANT: Please sign up to the MenotaBlitz email list if you choose to use MenotaBlitz for your transcription project. Just send an email to robert.paulsen@uib.no and state that you want join the list. Your email address will only be used for essential update information: Occasionally, updates will require that you execute a saving loop on your project in order not to loose your data. In such cases, you will get an email alerting you to the deadline for performing the saving loop.
